How-to: Fast sequential acquisition for the Zeiss LSM 710 (Bugnon) - Zen 2009 PDF
Written by Yannick KREMPP
Thursday, 26 March 2015

Upon request, here is a tutorial on how to set up the channels manually on the Zeiss LSM 710, to be able to do fast sequential acquisitions.

In a nutshell, you have to set up the channel configuration so that you have the same mirrors in every configuration, and switch between lines instead of between frames.

One major advantage for you is a dramatic improvement of the acquisition time (and you could even go further by enabling bi-directional scanning...).

One major advantage for the setup is premature wear prevention for the filter wheel

The PDF version of the How-To is just here:

The new Zeiss LSM 780 confocal microscope at the Bugnon campus PDF
Written by Yannick KREMPP
Tuesday, 17 February 2015
The new confocal microscope that replaces the old Leica SP5 is now up and running, and available for bookings and trainings.
For the CIF users already trained on the 710, the switch to the 780 should be relatively straightforward, and only a few minutes should be necessary to get the sense of what is different. New users will be trained on the 780 unless there’s a specific demand.
One major change from the 710 is the use of GaAsp detectors instead of the usual PMTs to detect the fluorescence signal. These detectors are much more sensitive, and are best suited for difficult samples and weak signal.
The Zen software is in its 2012 version, and comes with tweaks here and there in the user interface, but also with a much more comprehensive (and smart…) - Smart Setup.
If you need a training or a short introduction, please contact Yannick KREMPP before booking it for the first time.
