Here's a quick video tutorial on how to setup a free FTP client software to access the data stored on our ATLAS file server.

Please keep in mind that this will only work on machines that have already access to the UNIL network (authentified using this link  if you're logging from home)

Select 720p (HD) and put the video fullscreen to be able to follow the instructions.

People interested in learning about new opportunities for 2-photon microscopy at CIF are invited to attend the following

  CIF special workshop

  “Two-photon microscopy

new technological developments at CIF”

 Wednesday, February 9th 2011 at 12:15 pm

in the “Petit Auditoire de l’Ecole de Médecine”

Department of Cellular Biology and Morphology

University of Lausanne

Rue du Bugnon 9, 1005 Lausanne

We will review the existing technology and present our new custom-made live imaging 2-photon microscope (link). We will also discuss future developments of optical imaging technologies that we plan to make accessible to the FBM community. People interested in these new perspectives of the CIF activities will be welcome to make suggestions and express their needs. From these discussions, the CIF and the FBM will evaluate what type of technological developments to undertake for the benefit of CIF users. No registration is needed.

coolsnap.pngA new camera (Coolsnap HQ2) is now available on the time-lapse set-up (inverted Axiovision). This camera is a fast, high-resolution camera designed for quantitative fluorescence microscopy applications.

This cooled CCD camera delivers wide dynamic range with very low noise. The pixels can also be easily binned to improve sensitivity and reduce exposure time (a pre-requisite for living samples).

The previous black and white camera (AxioCam MRm) has been transferred to the upright Axiovision set-up. Therefore, this set-up is now equipped with two different cameras: black and white (preferentially used for fluorescent signals), as well as colour (preferentially used for histology). This also means that far red dyes such as CY5 or APC can now be imaged on this set-up (using the black and white camera!).
